Second day in America and I am deadly affected by the effects of jet lags, almost doze off during the orientation. Have been walking around the campus and explore the area abit. Jien Jien is the best, cos she is practically like a tour guide, since she did some exploring already ytd. Anyway, the orientation is so unlike SIngapore or NUS one. Orientation in UCONN is all about talks and talks. But as a result, I met SO MUCH foreigners! Like just today, I made friends from Germany, UK, Morroco, Taiwan, Korea and Lebanon, and we are not those hi or bye type, but seriously engaging in talks and issues and EXCHANGING information about our countries and stuffs like that. Many of them are so surprised when I told them how small is Singapore-My roomate told me like the population in her hometown Portland, Oregon is probably already larger than Singapore and Portland, Oregon is a state. Goodness!
Later the day, I had my health screening, it went smoothly, at the expenses of skipping my lunch. Hmm, nevermind, I am not alone in this. I had to take a TB skin test to prove that I am not TB infected, so one sucky jab… but a really nice thing I wanna share is that, at the jab area, there are a row of table serving cookies! The nurse who administered the jab to me wanted to reward me with a cookie! hahahha…but I turn it down politely. Urghs…shouldn’t be so thin-skinned.
Weather is cooling today, and it gets very cold when the wind blows.
I am going to Wal-Mart for my pillows todayyyy!!! Great!
