Have it the America way of life-Day 3.

Embarking on this trip makes me learn so much more than I could have, if I would to stay in Singapore. I have to said that I would never ever meet these people that I know now in my entire life—if not for this opportunity in Connecticut. Today, I meet friends from the Ireland, Germany and France and so much more. It’s so easy to start a topic…like “where are you from?” You may think that “oh! I know Ireland! Hear of it before…” but many a time, it’s fascinating to realize how little we know about the world, about other countries, and I just learn like a sponge when we exchange information and culture and the way of life in other people. I dun think I can impress anyone with this blog on how much things I learn today (and every other days since I arrived.), but I am glad I am able to see the world, not just America. People that I get to meet have depth and substance when they talked—we have lotsa funs, yet at the same time, we can able to pull off a conversation that is so intellectual and profound in many ways. I am not saying that Singapore friends are dull, but it’s really the perspective I get from these foreign students who lead different lifestyles from me.

Today. I met a German fren, Maika and we really kick off very well. We are sharing practically every topics anyone can think off. There was a point where I actually asked for her opinions about her country’s past…Hilter and the Holocaust and the starting of WW I and II. It’s so interesting, really, to have first hand information of stuffs like that from a German herself. Then topic went away to driving cars and I asked her a dummiest question—what are some of the brands for German Cars. I tot I heard her saying “ Mercy”, so I shook my head, implying I dunno. So, what happen was that she spelled it out.. “ M-E-R-C-E-D-E-S B-E-Z and VW”. I was so stunned! Ahah…felt like a silly fool. But yeah, we are really rather close and I like her a lot.

Later the day, my friends and I went to Wal-Mart again. There is a saying that Wal-mart is so big, that if you can’t find the thing you want there, it probably doesn’t exist. It’s HUGE! There is a pharmacy inside! Gosh! But something stressful sort up happened today, coz Wal-Mart is so big, my group of friends kindda got separated to get our own goodies, so when I ended up being alone, there are two blacks who approached me to say hi. I tot it was harmless ( Since there are MANY people who said hi to me these few days), I SMILED BACK. The next thing I know is that when I walked passed them, they called out “ How are you, pretty?’ Wah, so scared. But luckily I saw my fren in front of me. I walked towards her..but it’s still not too safe (coz there is only the two of us..). I might be just scaring myself with the blacks, but I am not taking chances.

Oh, but the shopping is fun. Wal-Mart is cheap! The clothes sold there are huge too! I was looking through women’s tee shirt, the smallest size feels like an XXL in Singapore! So…you are never gonna believe me. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE, I shop in the children department, and I got a size that fit me comfortably..the design is not too bad at all, what can I say? kids in America are matured. :D Shirt’s 7 bucks USD.

Dinner at Wendy’s, a fast food restaurant near Wal-Mart, and the size in America surprised me again. I already ordered a burger and the smallest drink available! Had a good time eating out with friends.

See the 3/4 lbs. triple burger? 3 slices !

See the burger? took me two meals to finish it!!!!!!!!!!

Over the dinner, I learnt from my French friend on how to pronounce Louis Vuitton in the true blue French way, I already master it. Next time, I will laugh at these people with the wrong pronunciation in Singapore. Hahahahhahhahahha!!!!!!!!

Anyway, just went for running around the campus at night, with a Singaporean, UK and a Korean student. Exercising in Storrs is excellent, coz the humility take away your sweat almost immediately and we gotta run fast since it’s very cold out there. Was observing the lake, the fields and the sky! Sky in Connecticut is nice! Cloudless and filled with stars! The moon really seems bigger there! You kindda know, that stars are not fake, neither are they all man-made satellites, coz they are just so much! twinkle twinkle little stars. How I wonder what you are. They are so bright, they remained me of my diamonds. I missed them.. Hahahah….

Type so long again. Can’t help it, I have so much to share.
