I am kindda free for these few days, since mid-terms has already ended for me and it feels sad to study again. Haha..The weather has been turning really cold quickly, I dun have a comforter, the only blanket around is the one I brought over from Singapore, it is not enough to keep me warm, so..I had 2 thick bathroom towels over me for the nights, sound so sad, but as long as I can survive, it works really fine for me. According to Jien, the heat radiator was turned on today (of which she happily ran out of her room to tell us and got lock out of her room as a result. -__- ). Honestly, I didn’t feel any heat for the opening…if my radiator wont work, I will freeze to death.
Talking about the weather, I dun have a coat too… I have winter coat and some rather thick jackets, but nothing to wear that is in between. I have ordered one online from Forever 21..shall happily wait for it to come. Lind and Julie have been very generous to lend me their extra coats, nice people, but I thinking I am still able to withstand the cold with more layers of clothes and a thick scarf, thanks people, u guys are so nice. =)
Recently, Mingren and I have been talking quite a lot about the work and travel that he will be going next year May. I heard that Yellowstone will be cold even in May, he will be so thrilled coz he can finally wear his “Jack Bauer” Coat. I am glad he is coming to US, I think there is no better way to experience what I have experienced, even though the nature of it is somewhat different. Yellowstone is a nice place, he can get to visit California and LA..places where I wont get to visit during my stay here. That is good, because the combination of my photos and his photos will pretty much make up the attraction in USA. Hahah..
Oh finally, Lip Sync is just around the corner. I have been practicing Latin dance every night. On Friday, we will perform in the Gampel with about 6000 people! So glad I joined it, there will be a video recording which will be compile into a disc. For frens in Singapore, I will show the performance to you after I come back!!!
I am so luckily that during this semester, I get to spend Halloween, Election Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year! Jenny, we ARE going to freeze our butts in New York Time Square during the last few hours of the year. Let’s have the time of our life in December. =)
Everything else is fine, I am doing great, I even get to eat Singapore chicken rice here! Hope everyone else is doing well, I misses u guys and take care!!!!

Life has been as enriching and challenging…there are good days and bad days and thanks goodness there are friends whom I can confide with. Today has been a mixture of happy and anger, but I am glad that I have sorted it out. I admit that I’m a pacifist, but when things cross their boundaries, I am glad that I am not afraid to stand up for myself. I had a very relaxing afternoon, especially when mid-terms had ended for me yesterday. I walked around the campus with Zoe, the weather was cold but sunny, so it was very comfortable to take a slow walk and enjoy the Fall colours. We had tremendous fun in observing squirrels. How lovely it will be if I can keep one of them as my pet. =) Later the night, Maika and I went for an event for the basketballer, which is called First Night. I think it is to officially declare that the basketball season had begun. Maika and I were rather amused by the fact how sports are so commercialized in America colleges. The basketball “stars” had autograph session and they kindda walked out one by one on the red carpet, there were loud music and spotlights…oh my, it was so surprising since these basketball stars are really just students…like us. Mcmahon dinning hall had global mcmayhemll just now, there were food and prizes, but all of us were only interested in the ipod shuffles that they were giving out as one of the prizes. Obviously, I didn’t get it, coz if not, that would be the headlines of this entry…Hanter got something though, a $15 gift card for ipod merchandises..lucky him. @__@ I heard one of the must-do actitivies for Fall is apple picking, so I am going for apple picking tmr (yeah!) and after that, to see a ballroom dancing competition. Good things to look forward to…

Took these photos today on my way to Money and Banking. It is even more beautiful to see them, because they sway gently against the morning wind and there are a mixture of green, yellow, orange and red colour just in one tree.

Had been busy these few days, since I realised Mid-term exams are coming and over UCONN, they dun exactly give study breaks, so I need to pull up my socks and make up for days where I accidentally slept through the lesson. Now I know, when I panic, I work better. Haha..Anyway, there was a power failure in my building just now, about 45 mins or so, how funny it was, when the power failed and all electricity was cut, people started to come out of their rooms and little commotions begin here and there. I was actually doing an online quiz when the power fails, urghs! I had to end up redoing the quiz again! Another thing is, the system of the washing machines was down today, so originally, we have to pay 2.50 USD in total to get our clothes wash and dried..but since system is not charging, we can use it for free! The laundry room was quite packed, I managed to get my laundry done, saved 2.50 USD, which is equivalent to 3.60SGD, shiok. haha. Lastly, I went to Sam’s room to upload one document into his laptop and I saw his family crest in his com wallpaper. I was kindda curious and asked him if he is a Noble, or did he live in the castle. HAHA..funny moment and Sam was struggling to tell me that every family has a crest in Ireland..so every Irish have a family crest..haha..I dont seems to listen, I still think he has royal blood. Later I found out that his family name “Casey” meant vigilant as a warrior. So! Sam is a descendant of a family of warriors from hundreds of years ago Wow! what a cool family background. Maybe I should start designing my own crest too. Haha.. Yup, reaching the end of the night, and tmr will be another mugging day. Going for Lips Sync practice now. I am performing for some dancing competition!

One month ago, I stepped out of my comfort zone and came into this foreign land. I have traveled almost half the globe to see so much, hear so much and feel so much within such a short period of my life. I have identified this small room as my home and the people around me as my friends and family here. I have to adjust to a new life, getting used to the academic workload and take responsible for my own decisions.
Things were not smooth sailing all this while. There were times where I was running late for class, clutching the campus map and trying hard to navigate alone in the bitter wind. There were times when I feel small, amidst the class of Americans. There were times I have made mistakes and wish that someone was beside me to take charge. There were times I cried after a call from home.
But there were also good times, where friendships were forged, lessons were learned and experiences earned. I am thankful that I have friends for support and care and I know that they are (literally) a door away.
One month down, three more to go!

Uconn just need the slightest reason to celebrate something. Today is…well, hotdog festival for Mcmahon Dining Hall. Just a little booth set up with a pretty good selection of hotdogs and root beer float. I had spicy German hotdog and a float, taste good! Something to get excited about during the somewhat mandatory weekdays. I am heading towards Boston this weekend for a one-day trip. Just throw in any attractions that I should visit! I miss home, but otherwise, I am doing great!
